Founders’ Ray Drury, DC and Thad Vuagniaux, DC, are Upper Cervical doctors that have successfully owned and operated their own practices for over 13 years. They were fortunate to learn about Upper Cervical care early in their chiropractic schooling. As part of their training, they went on a mission trip to Russia where they were part of a group which helped 15,000 patients in less than a week. By the time they graduated from school, they were very confident in their ability to perform corrections and help people get well, but they were about to learn first hand, how difficult it can be to open an Upper Cervical practice. Dr. Drury opened his first in practice in Charlotte, NC, and Dr. Vuagniaux opened his in Glen Carbon, IL.

Once in practice, Dr. Drury and Dr. Vuagniaux called each other almost daily, “How many patients did you see today?" The answer was always, "Not many." After six months of starving and accumulating more debt, they figured something out. They had the passion and ability to help people, but didn't know anything about running a business or attracting new patients. They quickly realized that those were the key elements they needed to learn in order to succeed.

Between the two of them, they have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars searching for that “magic bullet” or “home run” that guaranteed overnight success. They were going to every little seminar within driving distance, joined practice management groups, bought every book and tape set that promised them a million dollar practice. Unfortunately, after spending all that money, they have yet to find a “home run” that would cause their practice to explode overnight.  Ironically, the one thing they did learn was that there is no such thing as a “home run”. To build a large, successful Upper Cervical practice, you need a bunch of singles, doubles and triples that can be repeated to achieve consistent results.

It was this eye opening discovery that has enabled them to build their practices using a variety of those single, doubles and triples. In fact, if they knew thirteen years what they know today, they could have retired by now (if that was what we wanted to do).

Dr. Drury and Dr. Vuagniaux feel very strongly about taking Upper Cervical Chiropractic to the world, and to do that, they know that they need an army of strong, passionate doctors. They also know that the more successful each Upper Cervical doctor becomes, the stronger it makes them as a group, and the bigger impact they will make on the world.
